Yoga foundations will introduce students to the fundamental principles that make up a yoga practice in a clear and accessible way. The focus is on building a strong foundation in all aspects of yoga: asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), mudras (body locks) meditation, and yogic philosophy; so that students get an in-depth experience of yoga as a whole and can deepen their practice over time.
A typical yoga foundations class will include a basic breathwork, an asana practice, and a simple meditation. Nothing is off limits within the scope of the practice and class can include chanting, toning, energetic body practices, kriyas (cleansing actions or sets), and guided resting meditations.
Beginners are welcome. You must be able to get on and off the floor without assistance. Bring your own mat.
